Hello
Here's my answer, tell me if I can help you with more info.
Might be good to know, I'm not using an Intel branded NUC but a Gigabyte Brix GB-BXi3-4010, but I guess it's the same hardware in them.
I'm running Windows 8.1 standard, a fairly fresh install.
- What versions of the remote software are you all using?
TigerVNC 2.7.10 - What networking configuration are you using - wired or wireless?
Wired - Do you see any errors in Device Manager on anything at all?
No errors - In Device Manager, how are the devices listed under both the Display Adapters and the Sound, Video, and Game Controllers categories? And what are the version numbers for each?
Display adapters: Intel(R) HD Graphics Family (10.18.10.3643)
Sound, video and game controllers: High Definition Audio Device (6.3.9600.16384), Intel(R) Display Audio (6.16.0.3137) - On the system where you have the viewer, how is that one hooked up to the display (HDMI or DisplayPort; with a dongle or not; directly or through a receiver, etc.)?
Not sure which computer you mean but here's both:
Client: DVI-D, directly
Host: HDMI, directly - Does the behavior change based on the sequence of events:
- Boot the NUC without a monitor attached; then access it from the remote system
Booted in 1024x748 with picture in VNC but the Intel driver doesn't seem to load. Slow performance and the Intel Control Panel complaining about driver not supported or something like that. Once HDMI was connected the driver seemed to load correctly and resolution changed to 1920x1080 but VNC went black when HDMI was disconnected. (I believe this changed after installing the latest driver, it was black until I connected HDMI before.) - Boot the NUC with a monitor attached; then access it from the remote system; then remove the monitor from the NUC
VNC went black.
