Hi

as the title implies, I am attempting to share my laptop screen onto the LG smart TV, both of these devices have WIDI. I am not sure which side is causing the issues.

Laptop specs

Dell V511173AU-Inspiron 17R

Windows 8 (not 8.1 I don't think)

Intel Widi Version: 4.2.19.0

3rd Gen i7-3630QM

Wireless Display WIDI Application DriverMOD-SRV,SW,WIDI,74/7720

Nvidia Graphics Card, GT 650M 2GB

LG 47LM7600

Latest firmware update as of yesterday 27.11.13

WIDI and Screenshare set to on.

Both devices on the same Wifi network.

I have go as far as this

In the Input Menu of the LG I see this

then this

then the screen goes black but if you press the 'enter' or centre button on the LG remote it comes up like this.

Now over to the Laptop

Initially I saw this

And selected CONNECT and also Connect Automatically

Also this flashed up and I hit YES

Allow Intel to share the contens of your computer screen.jpg

I then used Windows Button + P, and selected Extend Desktop, expecting to be able to throw pictures or a Windows Media player application or a website etc to the TV. ie. just like when you have twin screens on your computer

But nothing, the screen remained black.

After some time the LG popped up with this

But despite fresh attempts at WindowsKey+P then extend or duplicate desktop, nothing appears on the LG.

So I went around in circles trying to rescan inside the Intel Widi software on the laptop for wireless devices, sometimes finding it like the above example, but always ending up at this

So what is happening here?

An initial question to Intel support here, does my LG47LM7600 Smart TV compatible with Intel Widi on Windows 8? I assume it is as otherwise why would it have found it a few screenshots up?

Please help
